If you are learning programming or taking up a computer course in college, you might be thinking to yourself, ‘why should you study these languages when new one’s usually come out’. Well you are probably right given the pace technology runs at these days, but one of these languages will stay here for a very long time plus you will get paid big bucks using this language to make programs. Which language am I talking about? Visual Basic 6.0, better known as VB 6.0. This language is probably one of the most flexible programs out there. It’s possibilities are endless. You can create a simple program such as a calculator to something as complex as a database. And it won’t be that hard I assure you as it is an object oriented programming language. What more do I need to say to convince you that VB 6.0 is a great language? Simple, flexible and lots of money!

If you’re currently studying the syntax structures of mySQL, well then I bet you know all the possibilities in store for your future. But if you’re a person that is thinking about learning mySQL and if it is worth all the trouble, then let me enlighten you as to why this is a great language to learn. First of all you should know the main purpose of the language. mySQL is centered on database work and gives various users access to it, if they are able to that is. Knowing that fact itself should drive anyone to learn mySQL. Do you have any idea how many major companies in the world rely on their databases? All of them! Databases are where their information is stored and retrieved by company officials or employees. With these databases the companies will not be able to function correctly. All this equals to big bucks! So trust me, investing time and money on mySQL will yield you a hundred times the money you spent and even more.

The language C#, better known as C sharp, is a language that has been with us for quite some time now and people who just got introduced to the language usually think among themselves that this is an obsolete language with no uses today. Well, that is the common thought given to C# when I was in college back in 2007. Now that I have dived into the pool of programmers I have come to realize C# is actually a very important language. Why you ask? Well for starters its syntax logic. When you take up a computer programming related course, first language you learn? C, C++ and C#. This is because the very logic this language provides is a great way to start training your brain to think like a programmer. Plus C# is still being used today to help develop complex operating and even simple dedicated functions for small software’s. Never underestimate a language because of how old they are.

Let’s say you’re thinking about a career in the programming world and are currently studying Visual Basic 6.0 (VB 6.0). Now you know it’s a great language and what not, but is it really worth studying you ask yourself? Or is it a dead end programming language that will become obsolete in the near future. Answer is simply yes, it is worth every penny to study. Why you ask? Visual Basic 6.0 is an object oriented programming language which holds key syntax structure to other languages, like VB.net for instance which utilizes the codes of VB 6.0 and implements them on websites. Knowing how the syntax is laid out in VB 6.0 gives you a certain amount of advantage among other programmers that don’t. This is considered till today a core language as it is very flexible in terms of what it is capable of doing. Basically, when you study VB 6.0, you’re assuring yourself a great future in the programming world.

By designing your own successful web page can seem difficult and nearly impossible if you do not do a little research first. The reason you need to know the basics of web page design is because the design of your website will actually influence whether or not people continue to visit your site and ultimately, whether they will buy from you or not. Obviously, a lot is riding on your website design so it is worthwhile to take this seriously and put some effort into doing it right the first time.
Design #1 Color
There are many important aspect of your design process should include the use of color. Color affects people psychologically and different colors have positive and negative attributes or feelings they can evoke and men and women respond to different colors more positively than others. So, figure out your target audience, what you are selling, and what colors will best help you persuade your target audience to stay on your web page and to buy from you.
Design #2 Organizations
A design flaw many beginners run into is organization. Your website must be well organized, and not just to you, but to the average person who has never visited your site before. It should be obvious where the information is and how visitors can get to it without wading through a lot of other links and information they are not interested in. Check out some larger, more successful sites to see how they deal with organization and just follow their lead.
Design #3 Too Much Text
Be careful about writing too much text and loading it to your website. A different type of writing is more appropriate for the Internet and in general bullet points, bold words, short paragraphs, and the like help break up a lot of text and make it easier to read. If you have a huge block of text on your web page, it is unlikely people will actually put forth the effort to sit down and read it. Make it easy for people to get the information.
Design #4 Too Many Graphics or Image
Too many graphics or image is another design mistake by beginners. Graphics can be very useful, however if you use too many graphics you cut out the text you can use which is how search engines find your website and rank you in search results. Don’t handicap yourself with the search engines by using too many graphics.
Design #5 Focus
Beginners often times do not have a clear focus of their website before they start designing it and it appears unorganized, unfocused, and the point of the web page is a bit vague. Come up with a plan and outline the major points and focus of your website design before you start.

The website is very important to easily search out by visitors before talking about attracting or retaining those visitors. Nowadays, designed website does not only relate to a web site visual attractiveness but more importantly, how friendly it is with search engines.
Below are 10 SEO friendly website designing tips where web designers should pay attention to during the early stage of their web designing process.
1. Avoid creating menu on the left-hand side of a website. If unavoidable, an alternative way is to put some text with rich keywords at the top or above the left-hand menu so that this text will be the first thing to be read by search engines.
2. Headlines are rated more important than the rest of the web page by search engines. To take advantage of this, you should have your keywords in the page headline. Since the header tag (h1) is quite large, you should format it to make it smaller.
3. Every page should contain the Title and description tags with good keywords to describe the page content. The number of words for the title should not exceed 9 and that for the description should not be more than 20 words in order to keep within the limits of most search engines.
4. Try not to use Flash when possible. Flash cannot be read by the search engines to date and will cause slow page loading time and make people run away. If you really have a reason to use flash, try to make it smaller (e.g. as a flash header) and leave other area of your website for keyword-rich content.
5. Think twice on how to use graphics. Make them relevant to your content and use an alt tag with relevant keywords for search engines to read as they cannot read graphics and also for your visitors so that they can have something to read when waiting for the graphics to load.
6. Do not only use images to link out. You should always use text links to link out to important content on your web site. Spiders can follow image links, but like text links more though.
7. Avoid using frames. Some search engines cannot spider web pages with frames at all. For the other search engines that can, they can have problems spidering or crawl it and sometimes they too cannot index the web page.
8. Avoid using too complex tables when laying out your page but to keep them simple for the spiders. There are some engines which find it difficult to navigate through to the other pages on your website if the navigation bar is too complicated.
9. Use external Cascading Style Sheets and Java Script files to reduce page size and make the download time much faster. It will allow the spider to index your web page faster and can help your ranking.
10. Use standard HTML. Software such as FrontPage, Dream weaver or a WYSIWYG editor will often add unnecessary scripting codes that will make the page larger than is needed and make it harder to crawl. It will sometimes add codes that cannot be read by search engines, causing the spider not to index the page or even the whole website. If to use, you should use those web page creator software wisely with a good understanding of html so that you may manually avoid or even delete those unnecessary scripting codes.
